CONGREGATIONAL BIBLE READING Romans 3.10-17

I - Sin perverts personality (Rom. 3:10-12). a) No fair - The innate perversity to humans makes clear that we are all bad. b) There is no one who understands - We are spiritually ignorant. c) There is no one who seeks God - We are rebels. d) All have turned aside - we are disobedient. e) they have become useless - we are spiritually worthless. f) There is no one who does good - We are morally corrupt.
II - Sin perverts conversation (Romans 3:13-14). The true character of the person inevitably comes up in conversation. The Bible is full of statements of this truth: a) O generation of vipers, how can ye speak good things, being evil? For out of the abun-dance in the heart, the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things of the good treasure of his heart, and the evil man out of the evil-te Treasury bringeth forth evil things. Mt 12.34,35 b) But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and they defile the man. Mt 15:18 c) The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked only perversities. Proverbs 10.31,32 d) A speech act mischievous expression perverse heart, that corrupts every organ is touched because "what comes out of the mouth" defiles the whole man (Mt 15:11).
III - Sin perverts conduct (Romans 3.15-20). a) Here Paul is quoting the Prophet Isaiah (59.7,8) talking to Israel. So do not tra-ta a complaint against perverse pagan, but a formal accusation against religious people who believed in God. b) The phrase "are are are swift to shed innocent blood" describes the tendency pe-caminosa to homicide. Remember that Jesus teaches that hatred is the moral equivalent of murder (Matthew 5.21,22). c) Sinners are naturally attracted to their hatred and violent results. This can be seen very clearly in our society. d) The human perversity is the imperfection of the human heart itself. e) The law carries its own condemnation against those who do not keep per-fectly: "Cursed is he who does not confirm the words of this law to do them" (Deuteronomy 27.26, cf. Gal. 3:10).
IV - The sin loses its power through the grace of God in Jesus (Romans 3.21-27). a) Sin enslaves man, but the grace of Jesus offers us the righteousness of God by faith in the Son of God. b) Since we are all sinners can only be justified by redemption per-formed through the blood of Jesus freely offered himself for us, to pu-rificar of sins committed in the forbearance of God. c) Thus, Jesus is the only one worthy of honor and glory, for there is nothing in us that we can boast. Only the Lord is righteous and can justify us by faith in him. d) For this reason a man will have nothing to boast about, because the law of works can not be fulfilled by sinners, only the law of faith (moral conviction, certainty).
CONCLUSION: The obvious conclusion we reached with Paul is that we are declared righteous by God, without any labor law. God does not nullify the Law, before both Gentiles and Jews justified by grace and we set the value of the Law by faith to receive their fulfillment through Jesus....
